format file clp

What is a clp file and how do I open a clp file?

Files appended with the CLP extension are called Windows clipboard files. Clipboard files are used by Microsoft Windows-based systems, Mac platforms and Linux. The CLP file format was developed and implemented by Microsoft into their OS to store data when a user presses CTRL+C or when the user accesses the "Copy" menu item in the "Edit" menu tab. This functionality is mostly implemented in other third party applications developed for Microsoft Windows-based systems. The data stored in a CLP file is regularly updated by the Microsoft Windows system after a user presses CTRL+C or clicks the "Copy" menu item in supported applications or in programs provided by the system itself. The Microsoft Windows system then uses the data in these CLP files when a user clicks CTRL+V or when a user clicks the "Paste" menu item found in the "Edit" menu tab. This is so the system can paste the saved copy of a particular file into another location or the content of a certain document unto another document or project output file. Users of Microsoft Windows-based systems can install the Corel PaintShop Pro X4 software and the Microsoft ClipBook Viewer program to implement support for viewing the content of these CLP files.
