format file uwl

What is an uwl file and how do I open an uwl file?

A user word list file is integrated with a set of data encoding specifications proprietary to Corel, and these specifications are implemented to allow the storage of data saved in a user word list file in the UWL format. The content of a user word list file includes a list of words and phrases entered by a user of a supported application with a grammar and spell checker applet. The grammar and spell checker applets of these programs locate the associated user word list file to reference the data stored in the file in order to provide the user with access to the grammar and spell checking functionalities integrated into these supported programs. These applications need to locate the associate user word list file because there can be multiple UWL files, each one intended for a particular language. The Corel WordPerfect software is an example of an application that uses these user word list files for its grammar and spell checking functionalities. The Novell GroupWise program is a word processor application implemented with support for using these UWL files, and this program has versions developed for Microsoft Windows-based systems, Linux and Mac platforms. These user word list files are appended with the .uwl extension.
