format file gpd

What is a gpd file and how do I open a gpd file?

GPD is a text file describing a printer to the Windows operating system when printing with the Universal Printer Driver which uses the GPD language to describe a printer providing various types of information including: printer attributes, printer commands, printer features, printer options, printer font descriptions, and conditional statements. The .GPD file extension can be utilized to store graphic images. In these instances, the image contained in the file is stored using a lossless compression method. This GPD file format is similar to both the GIF and PNG file formats. Each GPD file which is created describes a specific printer from the specific manufacturer. Each mini-driver can contain one or more GPD files within it.
