format file pmd

What is a pmd file and how do I open a pmd file?

A PMD is a page layout file created with Adobe PageMaker, a program used for creating professional publications such as newsletters and brochures. It contains formatted text, images and drawn objects, and can import images created in other Adobe programs. PMD files are used by Adobe PageMaker 6 or later. Development on Adobe Pagemaker was stopped in the spring of 2004 due to it being replaced by Adobe InDesign but it is still supported by Adobe. PMD files can also be opened by Adobe InDesign, the successor to PageMaker. PageMaker was one of the first desktop publishing programs, introduced in 1985 by Aldus,[2] initially for the then-new Apple Macintosh and in 1987 for PCs running Windows 1.0
