What is a 1st file and how do I open a 1st file?

Files appended with the 1ST file extension are text files that entail instructions to users to read before proceeding to run an application. Often, information mentioned guides the user in what to do and what to expect in cases where there is success or failure after installing or using the software associated to the 1ST file. This file contains notes and other release updates that the developer of the application finds necessary for the user to know and understand upon opening the archive such as ZIP or RAR files and can also be found in the beginning of a main directory list of an application.
