What is a stw file and how do I open a stw file?
Files in the .stw format are text documents that can be created and used with the StarOffice application as document templates. This software preceded OpenOffice.Org, which now uses the ODT data storage format to save the content of documents created with the OpenOffice.Org word processing application. StarOffice is used to create text documents that are by default saved in the SDW format, and files with the .stw extension can be used to apply the same page layout and formatting attributes found in the template unto the SDW word documents. Version 1 of OpenOffice.Org originally used the SDW and STW formats for saving word documents and templates, respectively, and recent OpenOffice.Org versions now use ODT and OTT formats, starting with version 2 of OpenOffice.Org. Oracle developed the STW format for StarOffice, while there are versions of OpenOffice.Org and Apache Open Office that can be used to open, view and edit the content of SDW and STW files in Microsoft Windows or Mac platforms.
