These are Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Catalog Files developed by Adobe Systems for its software known as Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. This Adobe Photoshop Lightroom application is used to manage and edit digital photos. The LRCAT files or catalogs used by this application stores information regarding the images collected through this application. These files mainly store organized information about digital photos wherein there is a supporting data file stored with these files using the .LRDATA extension. LRCAT and LRDATA files use the filename’s prefix when naming these files when they are saved in a directory. Opening LRCAT files require the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom application, a program containing tools for the management and post production of photo images. This program is also used to view, edit and manage digital photos no matter what format these images are saved in. The creation of multiple databases is also supported by this Adobe application which can be run using both Windows and MAC OS.
