What is a wp6 file and how do I open a wp6 file?
Files with the .wp6 extension are text files, particularly word documents, and WP6 was the first file format for version 6 of the WordPerfect application which offered a GUI (Graphical User Interface) for the page layout editing and text formatting features integrated into this word processing application. This GUI was unavailable in previous versions of the WordPerfect application, and another feature not found in older versions was the preview function developed and implemented by Corel into WordPerfect 6, so users can see the effects of the page layout elements and text formatting options they applied on the content of their WP6 projects. New typeface formatting options were also bundled with this version of WordPerfect. Files in the .wp6 format can be opened and viewed using the Corel WordPerfect X6 application, a newer version of this word processing program that was developed for Microsoft Windows-based systems. WordPerfect 6 and previous versions were for Microsoft DOS (Disk Operating System) environments, so as of this writing, WPD is the format used by the Corel WordPerfect Office X6 program and not the .wp6 extension.
