What is a pls file and how do I open a pls file?
Files appended by the PLS extension are audio playlist files containing lists of multimedia tracks that can be played and managed through a range of different media players. Files in this format are used to contain information about playlists including the files’ locations but is not able to contain actual media files. PLS files may also be redirected as OGG files or OGG Vorbis Audio Files that can enable audio compression and efficient streaming. Playlists that are created as PLS files can be considered as a more communicative type of playlist as it may contain (cache) information on the song title and length. Since the PLS extension is one the more know playlist file formats, it can be viewed and managed through most multimedia players like Apple Inc.’s Itunes, Real Networks’ Real Player and many more. However, to play PLS files through Windows’ Media Player Classic, it may require certain downloadable contents like codec packs and other file extension associates.
