What is a dll file and how do I open a dll file?
DLL, or Dynamic-link library, is a library that contains code and data that can be used by more than one program at the same time. A file affixed with the .DLL extension is a set of compiled resources like directives, procedures and drivers that are referenced and executed by a Windows program. DLL allows multiple programs to access shared system functions. DLL files are provided with Windows operating systems and programs, and may also be referenced by Mac cross-platform applications. These files should not be opened or edited. Some of the DLL files facilitate communications between the Windows system, corresponding built-in or third party applications and driver resources required by external and internal I/O devices.
