format file rft

What is a rft file and how do I open a rft file?

The Revit software makes use of .rft 3D data files in the creation of templates comprised of data structures organized in ways most useful for design projects. This software is commonly referred to as a BIM (Building Infrastructure Modeling) program that integrates 3D objects in projects created by users with this application. These 3D objects are saved in the RFT format, and these files usually consist of multiple 3D designs with a wide variety of modeling attributes and characteristics. Since these RFT files store data comprised of 3D images and other graphical elements, there is another version of this file format which is used by this program, primarily because some images and graphical elements often vary in many attributes and formatting properties. The standard version of files created by this application are appended with the RFA extension. Since the Revit application is from Autodesk, the RFT file format is used across many applications from the same developer, especially with programs integrated with 3D BIM functionalities, some of which include Autodesk Revit Architecture 2013 and the Autodesk Revit Structure 2013 software.
